Blah Blah Blah

Whilst perusing through the blog site and trying to update a few things (without putting in too much effort obviously, as I do have another job), it occurred to me that things are looking a little scruffy on here.

Then I remembered something significant.  This is exactly how I wanted the site to look when I created it.  As I mentioned on a previous post, I was largely inspired by those great fans that did their amazing work back in the 80's and 90's.   In the days before we all had home printers, touch screens and access to disturbing things (Justin Bieber's naked bits, for example), things were so simple and naive.

The 80's was a time when you could do a photo shoot with someone (Sara) holding a plastic lobster - and nobody batted an eye lid because it was normal.  In fact, if you weren't holding a lobster, you were chastised for being boring.

Not one person dared to question it.  Apart from maybe Boy George, as he was grumpy supreme back in the day (I think I learnt my best lines from him).

So when you are wondering why the blog site looks a bit basic and colourless.  Think of the days when the internet didn't exist, stop whinging and chant the following words "I am a complaining moose and I absolutely need to get a life".

Amen.  xx

The above message was posted on the official Instagram and Twitter pages.

If you are short of idea's, I have a few....

  • Half naked dancing to Mr Sleaze.  Surely this will capture the eye of K&S?  Dirty.  Dirty, indeed.

  • Perform the routine to Love In The First Degree behind a large metal gate.  Wearing small shorts will no doubt increase your chances of winning.

  • Performing an emotional reading of the lyrics of Bananarama song of your choice.  Love in The First Degree would work quite well.  'When I woke up, I was screaming....AGGGGHHHHHHH"  Of course, the risk is that you might look a bit unhinged.

I try to help.

Thank you, darlings

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for following the Twitter and Instagram accounts.  Your engagement with these accounts is really important because it's your enthusiasm and support that keeps them going.

Throughout the years, so many people have spent time and energy creating Bananarama fan websites, fanzines and online groups.  Their efforts also inspired me.

I'm literally amazed that we now have over 4,600 followers on twitter.  The Instagram account now has around 500 followers too.

Whoopppppeeee!

It's been a while....

Hello fellow fananarama's...

It's been some time since I last posted and an awful lot of things have happened in the world of Bananarama.

The absolutely amazing In A Bunch singles Boxset was released, for starters.  Fananarama's across the globe couldn't believe their luck.  The release of the deluxe edition albums was already mind-blowingly fabulous...but to top that seemed unimaginable.  This really was the icing on the cake and the end of a truly, truly brilliant collection of exceptional releases from Edsel.

A tour of Australia happened.  Supported by the legends Wang Chung.... and a group that not many people have heard of, the Chumptoopsies (or whatever they call themselves...)  The Chimptumsies apparently had a minor career in Australia back in the eighteen hundreds and one of the 'band' members seems to have an ungrateful, huge mouth according to an interview that I've read.  Oh well, the tour ended and she can go back to her day-to-day job as a spiteful nobody now.  I wish her well (did that sound sincere?....thought not).  The aussie fans loved the tour and Keren and Sara had a hoot!  Those lucky fans even got to hear a new song 'Got To Get Away'.   Hurrah.

Our girls have just returned from performing a few gigs in Japan to a very enthusiastic audience.  They also performed on a show with Japanese music legends SMAP  (try to beat that, Champteefies!...sorry, I will stop doing that now...probably)

So, what's the up-to-date news?  Well, a publishing deal with BMG was signed earlier this year.  There are hints that a book is coming, and of course...new music!  They have been working with old chum Ian Masterson and some new people.  There are lots of plans afoot, so I believe.

I will try to post more.  I promise.

Oh,...and in new news, the Chufftittsies have a new
album out....  probably....LOL
